John J. Wright, 83, of Parish, passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family after two years in hospice care and family caring for him at home.
John was born in Ogdensburg NY on August 18th , 1940 to Margaret C. Wright.
He was a graduate of Sandy Creek Central School. He retired from Coopers (Crouse-Hinds) as a sergeant over the guards. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed talking with anyone he met. He was an avid bowler, accomplishing several 300 games. He enjoyed sports, the Adirondacks, Lake George, and traveling with family.
He married his wife, Beverly J. Haynes, on November 5th , 1960 and they enjoyed 63 years of love. John and his wife raised four children.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children James J. Wright and wife Louise Wright of Parish; Tammy S. Wright of Pulaski, Timothy J. Wright and wife Lisa Wright of Chicago Heights, and John J. Wright Jr and wife Jennifer Wright of Parish.
His grandchildren James J. Wright Jr wife (Rose), Tanya Silvernail (Wright), April Wright, Christopher Wright wife (Alana), Timothy Wright wife (Maggie), Joseph Wright, Ryan Wright, Jeremy Wright, Brendon Wright fiancé (Cailee), Austin Wright wife (Ashley), Lyndsay Wright, Ashley Wright, Madison Wright, Savannah Wright, Mckenzie Wright, Kailey Wright.
Great Grandchildren Cameron Wright, Trista Wright, Benjamin Wright, Tyler Silvernail, Cassie Silvernail, -Chase Silvernail, Timothy Wright (TJ), Claire Wright, Katelin Wright, Lincoln Craig, and Axel Wright.
Calling hours will be held at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM with a service officiated by Pastor Cathy Hamilton at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 18th . A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Pulaski Village Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff of Hospice of Central New York who showed John the utmost compassion and kindness.
