Joseph Sluzar

Joseph Sluzar, 78, passed unexpectedly on Thursday January 2nd 2025.

Born September 26, 1946 to the late Alex and Phyllis Sluzar.

Joe was a Vietnam ARMY veteran. He returned to work construction until 1977 when he started his own general construction company, Union Settlement Enterprises. Joe continued working, tinkering and moving dirt for the next almost 50 years. He most enjoyed working outdoors from dawn to dusk with his heavy equipment. Joe looked forward to wintering in Arizona with his wife, loved cruising, and vacation time when he could fit it in from his busy work schedule. He also appreciated time with his grandchildren, and loved watching their sporting events.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandy; daughters, Melissa (Chad) Wilkinson and Danielle (Dustin) Clark; grandchildren, James, Jacklyn, Mason, Jacob and Giselle; siblings, Linda Bennett (Randy Howard) and Gary (Ellen) Sluzar; and several cousins, nephew and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to consider a donation to the Union Settlement Cemetery, West Monroe or your preferred charity.

Calling hours will take place Wednesday January 8th from 10am to noon at Watson Funeral Home, 631 S Main Street Central Square NY 13036. The family has planned a private Spring burial.
