Joyce (Sattler) Pennucci

Joyce Sattler Pennucci, 88, of Baldwinsville, New York passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at The Manor at Seneca Hill in Oswego, New York.

Joyce was born in Syracuse, New York on September 27, 1936, daughter of the late Lyle and Dorothy Sattler. She and her late husband, Luigi who died in 2009, for many years owned and operated The Star Motel of Cicero in Cicero, New York; The Cicero Shoe Repair in Cicero, New York; and Solvay Shoe Repair in Solvay, New York.

A gifted and creative crafter, canner of jams and any fruit or vegetable, and baker of bread and pizza, Joyce’s hands were never still. She loved gifting her crafts to others, especially holiday related crafts. Known for her baking of pizza using her hand made dough recipe, she baked fresh bread for the family each week and several pizzas (sometimes 4-6) every Friday night and opened her doors to the neighborhood kids and friends of family to dine on Friday night pizza. In addition to giving to her family, she volunteered for organizations that supported families and coordinated parent support groups in the Central New York area.

Surviving are a daughter, Marie (Kevin) Conklin of Baldwinsville, New York; sons, John of Liverpool, New York, Nicholas of Baldwinsville, New York, Carmen of Solvay, New York and Bill Pennucci of Syracuse, New York; granddaughters, Anna and Elizabeth Conklin and Sylvia Pennucci; great grandchildren, Anthony and Juan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Route 298, Bridgeport, New York. Calling hours will be from 4:00 -7:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Traub Funeral Home, 7975 Route 31, Bridgeport, New York.
