Joyce "Gramma" A. (Simpson) Hines

Joyce A. (Simpson) Hines, 85, of West Monroe passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday.

Joyce was born in Greene, NY on March 27, 1935 and she was a longtime resident of North Syracuse prior to moving to West Monroe. She worked for over 40 years for Crouse-Hinds prior to her retirement, after retirement she went to work for Walmart in Central Square. She was an avid outdoors person, she loved camping, kayaking, hiking, observing animals, just overall loved nature. Joyce loved people, she had a genuine, generous heart and always offered a helping hand to those in need.

She is survived by her sons, Danny (Sandra) and Kurt (Lisa); nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Michael Hines; and her three siblings.

Calling hours with be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square. A graveside ceremony will be held immediately following the calling hours at the West Monroe Cemetery.

Face coverings are required prior to entrance to the funeral home.
