Larry W. Hetherly

Larry W. Hetherly, 79, of Canastota, New York died peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, New York after a courageous battle with cancer.

Larry was born in Lockport, New York to the late William H. and Helen Reachkoff Hetherly on June 25, 1943 where he resided until 2005, retiring to Oneida Lake.

Mr. Hetherly retired from General Motors in Lockport, New York following 35 years of service as a Packer. Following retirement he he worked for Adesa Car Auction Company at both Akron and Cicero locations.

Not only did Larry enjoy spending time with his family, he also enjoyed boating, watching the sunsets over the lake and playing the slots..

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Marie Bernard; son, Brian (Candy) Hetherly; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Danna; sister, Gail (James) Sullivan; his twin brother, Gary (Linda) Hetherly; four grandchildren, Desirae, Deidre, Danielle and Bryce and a great-granddaughter, Lylah.

A Celebration of Larry's life will be held on a date and place to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
