Loretta L. Moorhead, 57, of Central Square, died August 3, 2026 from glioblastoma. Loretta was born on April 14th, 1969. She was a graduate of Westhill High School class of ‘87 and went on to graduate from Onondaga Community College’s surgical technology and nursing programs. Before starting a family, Loretta worked as a labor and delivery RN in Schenectady, NY.
Loretta was a proud mother of two. She was the driver for countless minivan road trips but most enjoyed family boating trips, summer time concerts and spring break beach vacations. As a survivor of breast cancer, there were many walks and events. Loretta was an avid book reader, loved her cow themed decorations, and was engaged in political causes. She was active on social media and at one point had tens of thousands of followers on twitter, but when she wanted to tune out the noise she was likely to be looking at dog videos and posts from the facebook group I Love My Cockapoo!
Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Tamblin. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Chris, and children, Chris (Central Square, NY) and Kelsey (Charlotte, NC).
Please consider making a donation in Loretta’s honor to Support the Upstate Cancer Center or StacheStrong.org.
