Louise L. Finch

June 17, 1925 ~ January 16, 2021 (age 95)

Louise L. Finch, 95, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, Saturday, January 16th.  She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Finch, sons George, Jr and Steve, daughter, Rosemary Lyboult and Doris Colegrove Lefever.  She leaves behind sons, Frederick (Pauline) Colegrove of Keesville, NY, Frank (Dolly) Colegrove of Granville, NY ,Tony (Coleen) Finch and daughter, Dorothy Finch, both from Pennellville, NY, a brother, Arthur Alexander of Cuyler, New York and sister, Mary Clark of Arkansas as well as numerous grand, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Born in Cortland, NY, she was one of 21 children.  She was a resident of New York for her entire life.  She held jobs at Camillus Cutlery, Tucci’s Bakery, Phoenix Schools and Silver Floss Sauerkraut Factory.    She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, garage sales, but her lifelong passion was her family.  She had a very generous heart.  Her home was always open to those that needed a place to call home or just rest their heads for a while.

She was noted for her spaghetti dinners on Sunday where all the family would gather.  Even if she was upset with someone, they, too, would be welcome.  She was a firm believer in family and would make sure everyone was okay.  She had a quirky sense of humor that some people couldn’t quite grasp but understood she meant no harm in her jokes.  She ruled with a stern hand and loved with a very warm heart.  She will be truly missed by everyone.  The members of her family who passed before her have welcomed her from above.
