Louise May Majerus

Louise May Majerus, 97 of Syracuse, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, after suffering a stroke the week prior. Louise was born in Watertown, NY, the daughter of William Hillsinger, Sr. and Elsie VanAlstyne. Louise met her husband of 70 years, Aloysius (Al) Majerus in Watertown, NY and they raised five children together. Louise lost her husband in 2014 and her only sibling, William Hillsinger, Jr. in 2022.

Louise worked for the New York Telephone Company during her earlier years but focused mainly on raising her five children and caring for her husband. Louise worked part time at Marshall’s Department Store in Clay, NY for eleven years during the time when most would be retired.  Louise made friends easily and loved listening to music, dancing, fishing, watching the New York Yankees, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are sons, David (Dottie) Majerus, Ronald (Mary) Majerus, Alan (Elaine) Majerus, daughters,
Patricia (Doug) Cowburn and Lori (John) Yakawiak; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and
great-great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, July 21st to honor, Louise’s life. Memorial contributions
