Mary Elizabeth Sattler

Mary Elizabeth Sattler, of Bridgeport, passed peacefully on January 27th with her loving family beside her.  

Born in 1940 to Dr. G.Edwin and Marion Thibault of Chittenango, Mary graduated from Chittenango H.S.  She was married to the late Donald Sattler in 1960 and together they owned and operated the Western Auto in Bridgeport where they raised their family in the community they loved so much.  At age 50, Mary went to work at M&T Bank where she was named “Top Regional Bank Teller," retiring at age 75.  She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drive in the community as well.  An avid S.U. fan, Mary loved her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all.

Mary is survived by her brother Dr. George (Barbara) Thibault; she was the beloved mother to Michael (Carin) Sattler, and Susan (Gary) Shapiro; grandmother to Max (Gloria) Shapiro, Drs. Matthew (Lauren) Sattler,  Zack Shapiro and Hunter Sattler; and great grandmother to Harrison and Dahlia Shapiro. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 31st, from 4 to 7 pm, at Traub Funeral Home, in Bridgeport  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 1st, at 10 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Bridgeport followed by a burial at Pine Plains Cemetery in Kirkville.
