Mary "Betty" Sassano

Mary “Betty” Sassano, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, with her loved ones by her side.

Born February 7, 1940, to the late Charles and Catherine (McNally) Brayen.

Betty retired from Centro after driving the bus for them for 20 plus years.

Some of her enjoyments in life were spending time at her camp and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty is predeceased by several sisters and brothers.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Leonard Ormsby, Marie (John) Russell, Mary (John) Douglas, and Jennifer (Brad Snyder) Sassano; grandchildren, Pamela (Doug) Stano, Destiny Douglas, and Dalton Douglas; two sisters and a brother, Richard “Dick” Brayen; along with her cat, Patches.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, July 9, from 11:00 am – 12:00pm, at Traub Funeral Home, 7975 Route 31, Bridgeport.

A graveside service will be private to the family.
