Milton Lee Knuth

Milton Lee Knuth, 76, of West Monroe NY passed away unexpectedly September 13th with his daughter LeeAnn at his bedside.   He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Milton E. Knuth and Norma J. (Turner) in 1946.

Lee joined the United States Air Force right out of high school in 1964, and after nearly 30 years of service in Satellite Communications and Cryptography, he retired. He was very proud of his military service.  Following his retirement from the USAF, he joined the USPS and again retired in May of 2011.

 He is survived by his younger brother David Knuth and a sister, Linda Marckel (David.)  He leaves behind his two daughters, LeeAnn Knuth Smith (Grant) and Lorie A. Ware (George B.)  He has 7 grandchildren, Autumne Burdick-Kerns (Devron), Zackary Kerns (Marissa), Jacob Kerns (Samantha), Justin Bush (Cassandra), Dakota Ware, Tori Ware, Zoey Ware and several great grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.  He also leaves behind his pen pal and good friend, Gail.

Lee has two rescue dogs, whom he loved dearly.  His free time included driving the Corvette, shopping “as seen on T.V.” and photography.  He was forever trying to obtain a picture of our illusive wood pecker…without success and blamed the resident squirrels!  He was a collector of many things, he liked Eagles, Coins, electronic doo-dads, and batteries.  (We often wondered if he was building some sort of secret ray gun, you know… for those squirrels.)  He looked forward to his weekly lunch date with his daughter Lorie,  he enjoyed his time very much with her and planned his time around it. 

Lee will be missed by all who knew him or had an opportunity to spend time with him.

(Lee’s wishes were not to have any services or calling hours.  A celebration of life will be planned for the future.)
