Oma (Halsey-Grant) Courbat, born October 8, 1940, passed away on May 3, 2018, at the age of 77. A life long resident of Oswego County who graduated from Mexico High School in 1958. She enjoyed bowling, spending time with her grandchildren, co-owned Grant's Gulf of Mexico and was a bus driver for the Mexico School district for many years before she retired in 2003. She enjoyed hearing the students call her grandma. Oma was a loving, wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Fay Courbat of Mexico, NY, son Edward (Jeannie) Grant of Scriba, Daughter Tammy Grant of Pulaski, Brothers Max (Alice) Halsey of Dearborn, FL, Mickey (Patti) Halsey of Mexico, NY and Step children Karen (Rick) Rein of Phoenix and Kevin Courbat of Brewerton, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. Oma was predeceased by her first husband Bernard Grant, Parent's Max and Edna Halsey and sister Roberta Skinner.
At Oma's request there will not be a public memorial service or calling hours.
