Orville “Butch” Davis Jr. 73, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Thursday January 29, 2026 at the VA Hospital in Syracuse NY surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 25, 1952 at
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse NY to the late Orville K. and Beverly A. (Windhausen) Davis. He married “Debbie” Deborah K.Davis (Landers) on April 7, 1978 and she survives.
Butch was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Butch got his GED while serving in the Navy. He was the ship store clerk “Class A and he received a National Defense Service Medal. He had his CDL Class B driver’s & motorcycle licenses and enjoyed driving trucks & tractor
trailers in Ohio. He was Co-Owner of B and D Paving and Firewood Inc.
Butch was a member of Post 915 American Legion in Central Square NY for many years and also went to the VFW in Hastings NY frequently. Butch and Debbie enjoyed riding motorcycles and they were members of the Blue Jay Motorcycle Club. Butch loved horses and rode horses to the town of Pulaski to play pool with his best friend
Bob Bailey (Molly), Pulaski, NY. He loved to water-ski, fish and enjoyed going to Sylvan Beach on vacation for many years with his entire family and friends. He played softball while working for Cooper Industries. Butch loved playing cards and dice with his family. He was loved for his sense of humor and practical jokes. He will be truly missed by everyone.
Butch was survived by his children; Michael S. Meyer (Crystal), Angela “Angie” Boston (Davis), IL and Karen P. Bogart (Marcus). Grandchildren: Kiley, Michael, Tyler, Kelly, Corbin, Dustin, Ashley
and predeceased by Timothy. Great Grandchildren: Rylie, Kingsley, Kashton, Grayson, Aaliyah and Sterling. Butch is survived by his siblings: Carolyn Kerr, Tower Hill IL; Marilyn (William), Hastings, NY; Dorothy “Dodie” Slinger (Jim); Pana, IL; Estelle “Star” (Scott) Bradley
Pana, IL. In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased in death by his brother David Bowman, Brad Davis and Wesley “Wes” Davis.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 for immediate family at Watson Funeral Home in Central Square, NY 13036.
A Memorial Celebration of Life including the VA Ceremony to be announced at later date in Spring of 2026.
