Patricia R. Chapman

Patricia R. Chapman, 83, of West Monroe, New York, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026.

Born on November 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Nye.

Patricia was a Charter Member of the West Monroe Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a member of Oswego County Ladies Firemen's Auxiliary, and a Charter Member of Mallory Wesleyan Church. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she lived it daily through kindness, service, and compassion. She found her greatest joy in her family, especially in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ethel Nye; her husband, William F. Chapman; her brothers, Merle and Milford Nye; her sister, Doris Baldorf; and her stepdaughter, Tracy Chapman.

She is survived by her children, Anthony Chapman (Les) of Central Square, New York; Dawn Childress (Darren) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Michael Chapman of Syracuse, New York; Kristina Donegan (Rick) of West Monroe, New York; Kendra Chapman (Chris) of Cleveland, New York; her stepdaughter, Terri Judge of Cleveland, New York; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Patricia’s memory be made to either the West Monroe Volunteer Fire Department or Mallory Wesleyan Church, both organizations that were dear to her heart.

Her family and friends will forever cherish her love, strength, and unwavering faith.

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, March 28 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm with a funeral service following immediately after at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square, NY. There will be a reception at the West Monroe Fire Department to follow.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 pm at Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus, NY.
