Paul "Rusty" L Yerdon

Paul "Rusty"  L.Yerdon, 96, of Central Square, passed peacefully on Monday, March 15, 2021.

Born to Norman and Edith Giddings Yerdon in Redfield, NY, on February 16, 1925, Paul graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1944. He went to work at M&M Farms until 1947 before working for Carrier Corp, in Syracuse, where he retired on May 31, 1985 after 38 years of service. During this time he was a dedicated Central Square Fireman for 16 years, past President of the Central Square Snowmobile Club, a current member of the Fulton Moose Lodge since 1984, Carrier's Retiree Club, and Central Square/Hastings Senior Citizens. He was a proud owner of his dream car, a 1964 Corvette.

On February 26, 1955, he married Marian Maynard from Caughdenoy and they recently celebrated their 66th anniversary. 

Besides his wife, Paul is survived by his children Sue Ellen (Bernie) Miller of Peoria, AZ; son David (Denise) Yerdon of Central Square; grandchildren Meredith (Daniel) Street-Walters of Peoria, AZ, Mason Miller of Peoria, AZ, Craig Yerdon, and Ryan Yerdon, both of Central Square; great grandchildren Macaulay and Torrance Street-Walters of Peoria, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family and friends will miss his dry sense of humor and friendly smile.

Paul is predeceased by his parents Norman and Edith and siblings Iva (Frank) Pryor, Elwin (Agnes) Yerdon, George Yerdon, Alice (Jack) Helbock, Aline (Orlo) Porter, Retha (George) Van Epps, and Cedric (Genevieve) Yerdon.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 4 pm to 7 pm, at Traub Funeral Home, Inc., Central Square. A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, 11 am, at the funeral home followed by a Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Central Square.
