Peter L. Smith

Peter L. Smith passes away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with his family by his side, after a long illness.

Peter was born on March 12, 1950, to the late Edward A. and Violet (Hulme) Smith.

Before coming to America, Peter trained with the British military. After coming to America, Peter served with the NY Army Reserves in Syracuse. He then went on to work as a CNA with St. Lukes in Oswego, before his aneurysms.  Peter also previously worked as a locksmith. He enjoyed working on locks and repairing clocks.

Some enjoyments Peter had in life were top tinker with lawn mowers & tools, watching Westerns, and singing in his Adult Daycare Group at DCLC in Syracuse.

In addition to his parents, Peter is predeceased by his brother, Melvyn Smith.

Survivors include Peter’s sister, June Ustby; son, Peter R. Smith; daughter, Heidi Smith Berger; Iris Berger; grandson, Nathaniel Smith; former wife, Pattie Smith; along with 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

Due to Peter’s wishes, there will be no services.
