Rebecca R. Salmon (Morey) passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, with family by her side, on August 30, 2024. Rebecca was born January 27, 1943 to Everett and Helen Morey (Cathers). She graduated from Cicero High School in 1960. Robert Salmon, her husband of 33 years, happily embraced the roles of both husband and father, providing support and care to Rebecca and the family.
Rebecca retired from New York Telephone with over 30 years of service. In her early years, Rebecca enjoyed bowling and was a member of multiple leagues in the Syracuse area. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting. She loved to vacation in the Adirondacks and Cape Cod. After her retired, Rebecca enjoyed spending time and traveling with her husband, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca is predeceased by her sisters, Sally Fontana, and Beverly Longdon; grandson, Kurt Woolridge; and former husband, Claude Woolridge. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Robert Salmon (Bridgeport); sister, Marylou French (North Syracuse); children, Robert Woolridge (Canastota), Sean Woolridge (Baldwinsville), and Kimberly Woolridge (Bridgeport); ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a fur-baby named Benny; along with several nieces and nephews.
Rebecca's request was to not have services. A celebration of life is planned for September 28th from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the Bridgeport VFW.
