Robert Hayes Dudley passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Born June 14, 1931, in West New York, NJ to the late William and Katherine (Bauer) Dudley.
Bob graduated from Memorial High School and relocated with his parents to the Euclid area. Bob served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Malloy D.E. 791 as an Interior Communications Electrician. He then married the love of his life, Janis Johnson, on July 5, 1952. They have been happily married for 73 years. Bob and Jan together formed a loving family with their son Dane (Ellen) Dudley, and their daughters, Darla Reed and Dorinne Dudley; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for the N.Y. Telephone Company for 35 years.
Some of the enjoyments in life were spending time with his family, playing softball (up until the age of 75!), the New York Yankees, and with the help of the Central Square Library staff he was able to read hundreds of books.
In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his brother, William; and his grandsons, Jeremy Reed and Zack Kallfelz.
Calling hours will be on Friday, August 29, from 10:00am -12:00pm at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square with a funeral service following immediately after.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to make a donation in Bob’s memory to the Central Square Library.
