Robert D. "Bob" Grannis 90, of Central Square, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2021 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
Robert was born in Syracuse on October 21,1930. He was united in marriage with Margaret "Betty" Snyder and enjoyed a blessed union of 62 years. Bob retired from Syracuse China after 43 years of dedicated service. He was also employed at one time for CME, holding that position for 10 years. Robert served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1955. He volunteered at St. Michael’s Church (Divine Mercy) alongside his wife and for the bingo nights. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and loved to work with flowers and especially being in his garden.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert W. and Bertha, by a sister, Norma and by his brother in-law, Milford and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret "Betty" Grannis of Central Square and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Bob will be remembered for his famous homemade pies.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 10 am on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from Divine Mercy Church, 592 S. Main St., Central Square with the Rev. Christopher Seibt, pastor, officiating Procession will follow to Hillside Cemetery, where burial will take place. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the West Monroe Historic Society. Arrangements are under the guidance of Traub Funeral Home, Central Square.
