Robert P. Loveland, 86, of Clayton, NY passed away on Monday, September 18, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY with his family by his side.
Robert was born on August 31, 1937 in Watertown, NY to the late Paul and Katherine Loveland. He graduated from Watertown High School, and married Dora Loveday on August 12, 1964 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Robert was a proud veteran, serving his country in the United States Army from 1967 until 1990 when he was honorably discharged. He served in Vietnam, and was the recipient of various awards and medals. Robert was also a member of the American Legion Post #0821 in Clayton, NY.
His hardworking nature and military background secured him several jobs over the years, being employed by Jaquith Industries and even owning his own welding business; Loveland Industrial.
In his free time, Robert was an avid golfer, and was especially partial to the Clayton Country Club that he resided just down the road from. He also enjoyed the occasional karaoke night; singing mostly country tunes.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife; Dora, and a brother; Paul Loveland.
Robert is survived by his children; Denise (Fred) Gloska and Mark (Darlene) Loveday, his siblings; Kathy Cashier, Danny Loveland and Tommy Loveland, his grandchildren; Zachary Gloska, Susan Gloska, Michelle Gloska, Holly Loveday and Heather Loveday, his four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no public services at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Traub Funeral Home in Central Square, NY where memories and words of condolence can be shared with the family at www.traubfh.com.
