It is with great sadness, that the family of Robert “Bob” J. Robarge, announce his passing. Bob left us on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Crouse Hospital after a long illness, with his partner, Cathy at his side.
Bob was born on April 3, 1948, to the late Stanley J. Robarge and Barbara J. (Orton) Robarge.
After graduating in 1967 from Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, Bob furthered his education at Lake City Jr. Forest Ranger School in Florida. Following college, he entered the United States Army, serving in Alaska from 1970 – 1972, reaching the rank of SGT. Bob was employed by Onondaga County for many years, until he retired.
Throughout the years, Bob had been an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved going ice fishing. Bob also enjoyed snowmobiling for a time.
Most recently, he was a lifetime member of the Central Square American Legion Post 915, where he held several post positions. Bob also held positions at the Oswego County Legion level. He was also a member of the Central Square American Legion Riders. He loved riding his “spider” motorcycle. Bob also enjoyed his time playing in the Pitch league at the Legion. Another of Bob’s favorite pastimes was playing at the casino, where he often hit some big jackpots and loved sharing the news with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother Edward (Ned) Robarge, 2017, and his daughter, Wendy Robarge (Ogden).
Bob leaves behind his partner of 27 years, Cathy Coloton (Discenza); sisters, Susan Michaels (Jack deceased), and Nancy (Alan) Renaud; brother, Ken (Sharon) Robarge; grandchildren, Perrin and Mikayla Ogden; along with several nieces and nephews.
