Ruth Pardee

Ruth (Schauer) Pardee passed away June 28,2024. She was in good spirits and able to convey her farewells to the very end. She was especially thankful to the kind nursing staff at The Cottages at Garden Grove where she had spent the last ten months. 

Born in Syracuse NY and living on Knaul Street with her parents, two sisters and 4 brothers until the family moved to a farm in Caughdenoy NY in 1946. She graduated from Central Square High School and received an Art Scholarship, of which she was very proud of. 

In 1954 she married John Pardee from Cicero, he caught her eye because he was a beautiful dancer. They had two sons, David and Duane. 

Ruth loved being a housewife and enjoyed tending to her flower garden, bird watching and cooking. She showed off her artistic talents in many ways, especially decorating for the Holidays. One year she wrapped the entire house like a Christmas gift with a big red ribbon and bow. 

Her greatest joy was her family. Not just her immediate family, but her extended family as well. She was very close to all. 

In 2018 she mourned the loss of her husband of 63 years, John. However, her new pride and joy came with the marriage of her only grandson Daniel and his wife Ashley who in a short time delivered two beautiful great grandchildren Fitch and Nellie. Just a week before her passing, Ruth was able to spend some time with them. That joyous memory will forever be with her. 

Along with her husband John she is predeceased by her parents Peter and Maria Schauer. Her two sisters Elizabeth Lewandowski and Marianne Chesbro. Also, her four brothers Joseph, Lawrence, Peter and Raymond. 

Ruth is survived by her sons David and Duane (Mary) Pardee. Her Grandson Daniel Pardee (Ashley) and two great grandchildren Fitch and Nellie. 

Pine Plains cemetery in Clay will be a site of internment. A private grave side service will be July 8.
