Saundra "Sandy" Aicher

Saundra (Sandy) J. Aicher (83) of Central Square died peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Born in Tupper Lake, NY, Sandy is predeceased by her parents, James and Alfreda Brown, daughter Cynthia Cannon, sister Barbara (Brown) Velez and grand daughter Kelley Cannon.  She is survived by her loving husband R. Mark Aicher, whom she has been married to for 63 years, daughter Christine Serley (Thomas) and Scott Aicher (Angelina), Son-in-Law Daniel Cannon, Grandchildren Alex Giangolini, Taylor Cannon, Malerie Serley, Robert Aicher and Joshua Aicher.  Great-Grandchildren Ean, Lennon, Julien, Joseph and Maxwell, along with her beloved dog Sassy.  She retired from The Scotsman’s Press in Syracuse where she sold advertising for many years.

Sandy had a zest for life and in her younger days enjoying hiking, camping and boating with her family.   Thursday night out for dinner was a regular occurrence after her weekly deadline for the paper.  Friday through Sunday were always spent on the boat enjoying the many waterways of Central New York.   She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her girlfriends for many years.  In her later years, nothing could pull her away from ION TV and the Chicago Series.  She truly loved her Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.  She was always the strength and wonderful Matriarch of the family and will be sorely missed.
