Scott W. Cavanaugh, 58, of Central Square passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon.

Scott was a renowned marksman winning several awards for shooting competitions on a national level. Though he enjoyed shooting, he loved spending time with his family more than anything, especially his children. He will be remembered for his matter-of-fact humor, quick wit and playing pranks on anyone that would fall victim.

Surviving are his children, Scott Cavanaugh, Jr., Stephen (Shayna DeRienzo) Cavanaugh, Stacy Cavanaugh, Dawn Cavanaugh, Piper Cavanaugh, Gordon Cavanaugh, and Amanda Kirby; grandchildren, Ophelia Franze and Jeremiah Kirby; and his siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, services will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellspring Family Life Church or the National Rifle Association.
