Sharon A. (Sands) Shumway

Sharon (Sands) Shumway, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

A celebration of life will be held  at her daughter Shannon’s home (823 Rider Street, Parish NY 13131) on Saturday June 1, 2024, beginning at 2:00PM. All are welcome to attend.

Born in Syracuse on July 07, 1945 to the late James and Naomi Sands, she was known for her generous personality. Her happiest times were spent doing puzzles, baking (most notably her famous molasses cookies), and spending time with her family. 

Sharon is survived by her children; Joseph “Jay” (Kathy) Shumway, Richard (Tina) Shumway, Kelly (Alvin) Geddes, John (Jackee David) Ladd, Shannon (Jason) Green and James (Jamie Miles) Ladd, a brother; James “Jim” (Queenie) Sands, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchilden and nieces. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother; Jack Sands, and her past life companions; Joe Shumway and George Ladd.
