Steven L. Lasek

Steven, a native of Utica, NY, was born on February 21, 1943. He peacefully passed away on May 9, 2024, after bravely fighting Parkinson's disease and dementia. In his youth, Steven found joy in sports, excelling in football and hockey in the minor leagues. Throughout his professional life, he served as a devoted pharmacist in Central NY for many decades. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Lurana Torrey of West Monroe, his children - Kathy, Keith, Theresa, and Scott, as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes “the best.”
