Valarie Lombardoni Obituary

Valarie Sue (Lanphere) Lombardoni, 53, of Central Square, passed away at home on May 14, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 26, 1968 in Syracuse, NY to the late Richard Lanphere and Sharon (Nolan) Lanphere.

Valarie (Val) worked at UPS for over 30 years, meeting friends that lasted a lifetime. Val was always there for others, putting others above herself, consistently being a source of support for all her family and friends. Making people laugh and cracking jokes, no matter what the situation, was one of Val’s most admirable attributes. If you were a friend of Val’s, you were a friend to the end. Val had a beautiful soul and a heart larger than life itself. Val “loved her people.” You could always count on Val to offer a hug to those in need. She had a sixth sense and knew when someone was having a real bad day and gladly provided endless hugs. Her love and smile will live on forever.

Val loved every second spent with her children and husband, no matter what that time was spent doing. Animals, especially cats, could sense that she was an avid animal lover. She brought in several feral cats and kittens into her loving home and despite being skittish around others, they would jump right up and snuggle next to Val. Gardening and taking care of her fruit trees and other plants, drinking coffee, doing handy work around the house after taking trips to Home Depot and Lowes, and going to the Syracuse Nationals every year with her late father and brother’s yellow ’69 Chevelle with Tweety Bird, were all significant sources of joy for Val. She met her husband, Steve, in October 2010, and they shared many hobbies, including shooting, archery, fishing, and cars. Their love story truly began once they discovered they each owned a Chevelle. Racing microds and racing at the Brewerton Speedway was something Val loved others to know about her past. She even won New York State Championship, along with many other trophies, during her time racing microds.

Valarie was predeceased by her father, Richard Lanphere and brother, Billy Lanphere (Sir William). She is survived by her loving husband Steven Lombardoni; daughters, Kimberly and Karyn Knaul; son, William Lewis; mother, Sharon Lanphere; three stepdaughters, Kayla (Lombardoni) Bock, Stevie Lombardoni, and Joelle Lombardoni; three stepgrandchildren; many pets; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 11-1pm at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square, NY, followed by a burial at West Monroe Cemetery.
