William A. Burkert

William “Bill” A Burkert Jr. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 went home to be with Jesus.

In his 83 years on Earth, he was loved by many for last 26 years he was cared for and loved by The Thurston Family and their extended family.

He worked at Oswego County Industry for many years until retiring in his 70’s to enjoy their Senior Program and lunches with his brother Bob.

Bill’s pastime was watching Westerns, toast, drinking coffee, paper, hats and family time with his adopted family.

He was born in Jamaica, Long Island, New York.

He was predeceased by his parents, William Burkert and Elizabeth Constanza Burkert and his brother, Robert Burkert

He is survived and missed by Morris and Tina Thurston, their children Mandy (Steve) Labodin, Christopher (Kayleigh) Thurston, Nicholas, Jason and Joey Tibbles.

Their grandchildren saw him as an uncle and miss him deeply along with many extended family and friends. 

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 11 am- 2pm at TRaub Funeral Home, Central Square. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2 pm.
