William C. Megnin Jr., age 71, passed away October 9th, 2021, at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
William was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served in the Vietnam Era from 1970 to 1973 where he was stationed in Germany and continued in the United States Army Reserves until 1976. While in the service he was awarded the “Good Conduct Metal” and a “Sharp Shooter” of the M16.
William was an active member of the Teamsters Union #314, American Legion Post #787 and the South Shore Rod & Gun Club. William retired after 30 years as a truck driver. First, Suburban Foods, Flickinger, UPS and eventually retiring from ABF Trucking in 2011.
William is predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years Lynda Elizabeth Megnin, survived by his two children: Jennifer Megnin and William C. Megnin III. He also leaves behind his only granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Megnin and his only brother Richard Megnin.
William, AKA Wacky Willy, enjoyed his time outdoors hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and NASCAR Racing.He also enjoyed collecting old tools for his garage.
Services will be private.
